Short Tennis

THE NEXT GREAT RACQUET SPORT!  I give the credit for inventing the game to Hilary Mann, former racquetball professional at Tennis 13 in Laval outside of Montreal.  It was Hilary who lit a fire under all the racquetball, squash, tennis and badminton players at the club and got us playing and competing in Short Tennis - generally more often than our. primary sport!  We played the game in the early 80's with  moulded plastic Stiga (of table tennis bat fame) racquets and a ball which bounced just enough to be hit out the back of the court on a very hard hit.  We had to give up on the game because we broke all the racquets, used up all the balls and couldn't find alternate suppliers.

The game is played on a badminton court with the net lowered.  All outside margins of the badminton court are used and the game follows tennis rules.

The game is very fast paced and gives the player a workout/run which is better than squash.  It can be played by people of all ages and enjoyed thoroughly even by novices.  Another great thing about this game is that you can hit tennis shots like the pros!  Passes when people come to the net, lobs,...

At present we are developing the racquets, balls and accessories.  We anticipate being able to rock and roll within a matter of months and it is our plan to rapidly seed every place where badminton is played with product - and to get people up and playing on all seven continents quickly.  If you would like to be a part of this, the newest great racquet sport, please consult this page:  racquets-direct.php
